A Toronto native, Dwayne Smith had hoops dreams ever since he was a teen. Growing up in central Toronto, he would train hard everyday. Dwayne played for Team Ontario for various years and had a brief stint with Team Canada. He attended Pickering High School to play alongside Devoe and Cory Joseph, and helped the team win back to back gold medals at OFSAA Through his dedication and discipline, Dwayne received an NCAA Division 1 Basketball Scholarship to George Washington University. In 2013, he graduated with a degree and started his professional playing career. His accomplishments include many championships overseas, and repeatedly capturing Crown League titles in Toronto. In 2019, Dwayne made the decision to retire early from playing and focus on the next generation by training, coaching and consulting youth/teens that aspire to play at the next level. In the summer of 2022, Dwayne joined the coaching staff for the Scarborough Shooting Stars in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. It was the teams inaugural season, and we lost a close championship game in the first year of the team forming. Below is a snapshot of his playing career!
